Mr. Robert Carl "Petie" Moricle, 77, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Petie was born July 21, 1945 in Alamance County. He worked as a computer programmer for several companies over the years, and as owner of Noodle's Country Cafe, before retiring from LabCorp. Petie loved the outdoors and could usually be found fishing and running deer with his dogs or cutting big piles of wood. Well known for his hat collection, he was rarely without one. He loved sports of all kinds and played basketball and baseball in high school. He also enjoyed attending Lighthouse Baptist Church with his wife. Petie was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Grace Brewer Batson; father, Irvin Zachary Moricle; and sister, Linda Carol Alford.

Petie is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy Lineberry Moricle; sons, Carlton Wayne Moricle and Brandon Lynn Moricle and wife, Amanda; and grandchildren, Hayleigh Moricle, Hayden Moricle, Rachel Moricle, and Brody Moricle.

A celebration of Petie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joshua House officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Alamance Memorial Park.
