James Carl Scott Sr., 96, of Dardanelle, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Dardanelle Nursing Center. The son of James and Dorris Estel (Hays) Scott, he was born September 27, 1925, in Ola, AR. He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran of World War II and worked as a Foreman with Deltic Timber. James was a former Chief of The Ola Fire Dept., a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Ola, The American Legion and the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, travelling, hunting, spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Arlevia Scott; his parents; his son, James Carl Scott Jr. and his siblings.

Survivors include his granddaughters, Shelley Applegate (B.J.), Hot Springs; Jennifer Bonds (Mike), Conway; four great grandchildren, Bryce Applegate (Allison), Dardanelle; Brooke Applegate, Magnolia; Ben Bonds, Conway; Sam Bonds, Conway; four great-great grandchildren, Lola, Legend, Colton and Emmberly Applegate all of Dardanelle; and a brother Charles Scott (Jeanette), Conway.

Graveside Service and burial with military honors will be 2:00 PM Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle by Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev. Jim Benfer will officiate. Memorials can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3141, 118 North Front Street, Dardanelle, AR 72834.
