William Ray Bankson, 81, of Modesto, died Friday in a convalescent hospital near Salida after an extended illness.
He was the husband of Linda E. Bankson and was a retired carpenter. A native of Nebraska, he was a residen t of Modesto for 20 years.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Agnes Chase of Monterey Park; Ruth Perry of Yreka, and Irene Suderman of Modesto; two sons, Ralph Bankson of Sonoma and Eldon Bankson of Turlock; a brother, Harold Bankson of La Veta, Colo.; a sister, Henrietta Bankson of Lincoln, Neb., six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
