George R. LEE Sr. was the son of James W. LEE Sr. & Ann Mozelle NEWTON. He married Emeline BOYKIN, in March of 1861, and they were the parents of seven children (born 1862-1882), three of whom died as infants:

• Bertha LEE, "Bertie", who married William John BOYKIN, "Willie" in 1903.
• Alfred LEE, and
• Annie LEE.
