LOA, Utah--Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Lucy LoRee Morley Sorenson, age 81, died May 31, 1999 at her home in Loa.
She was born May 19, 1918 in Moroni, Utah, a daughter of Leonard H. and Lucy Vesta Smith Morley. He married Clifton B. Sorenson, July 16, 1935 in Loa. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. He died November 7, 1981.
LoRee was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings. She served an L.D.S. mission in the Texas Dallas Mission from 1983-85. LoRee was an accomplished seamstress, home remodeler, decorator and gardener. She taught 4-H and was an EMT with the Wayne County Ambulance. LoRee was very supportive of her husband, Clifton, in all he did.
She is survived by her children: Mack and Barbara Sorenson, of Sandy; Steve and Darlene Sorenson, of Murray; Calleen and Jay Curtis of Sandy; Ritch and Paula Sorenson, of Lubbock, Texas; Merie Anna and Richard Black, of Littleton, Colorado; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly; two sisters: Phyllis and Keith Johnson, of Rose Park; VaNeil Taylor, of Richfield.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Bob" Sorenson, who died while LoRee was serving her mission; and two sisters: Nina Hansen and Fern Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 5, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Loa LDS Stake Tabernacle. Burial will be in the Loa Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
