Jahaza was born in Kentucky the daughter of Silas Montgomery and Aggie Sizemore. On January 15, 1879 she married Brice Minix the son of Charlie Minix and Margaret Patrick. Brice and Jahaza's children are; Sola Minix, Fanny Minix, Kate Minix, Wilburn Minix, Jane Minix, Noah Minix, Hager Minix, James Minix, Virgie Minix, Amanda Minix, Jasper Minix and Wardie Minix.
