Son of William C Patterson and Charlotta McAlpin. He went by Carson DeLon because of his mother's second marriage to Francis "Frank" DeLon in 1908. I could not find any record of Frank adopting Carson, so I don't think that he did. Carson had a relationship with a woman named Edna C. Lewis, this relationship produced one son, Ralph Nield [B.1917]. Ralph was likely adopted by his step father Arthur Nield. Later in 1917 Carson enrolled in the United States Navy as a pharmasist mate 1st class on 13 Nov 1917 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, USA. He was discharged on July 20 1920. Carson went on to marry a woman named Lelah May (Moriarty) DeLon / Smart. Lelah took the name DeLon instead of Patterson upon their marriage. They married on 19 Nov 1924 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They had 3 children; Elaine Virginia (DeLon) Butler [B.1925], Doris Anne DeLon [B.1927], and June Marie (DeLon) Fancher [B.1928].
