Ray Thompson 1929 - 2022
Our Loving Husband, Dad, Brother, Grandpa, and friend Arthur Ray Thompson, 92 of Riverton, UT, passed at his home Monday, March 7, 2022. He was born May 30, 1929, in Chinook, Montana, to James Clifford Thompson and Lydia Samantha Lee Hardinger.
He married the love of his life, Eunice Marie Richardson, on July 1, 1948, in Burley, Idaho. He was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. He loved his family and friends especially his kids and grandkids. He was known for joking and then laughed, saying, "Just giving you a hard time." He got his pilot license in the early 50's and loved flying and talking about it. He loved to hunt and fish and did so every chance he could and was known for making the best fishing lures around. He was a Meat Department Manager for Safeway's for 25 plus years. He did construction and drove truck and was an expert at driving large machinery and could drive in extreme difficult situations. He loved to garden and keep a nice yard and could grow anything. He was great at documenting things and liked to have things clean and organized.
He is survived by his wife Marie of Riverton, UT his daughters, Beverly Severe of Riverton, UT, Darla (Irvin) Enders of Garden City, ID, grandkids, Cyndi (Kelly) Opfar of Orem, UT, Pam (Kenny) Bledsoe of Herriman, UT, Mark (Amy) Owens of Lehi, UT, Chris (Danni) Ladd of Riverton, UT, TJ (Susie) Kemp of Meridian, ID, Che' (Jon) Geyer of Beaverton, OR, Jason Kemp of Boise, ID, Tyler, Owens of Lehi, UT, Ryan (Brittany) Kemp of Eagle, ID, 16 great grandkids, 12 great great grandkids, sisters, Darlene Hammond of Clarkston, WA, Marlene Christensen of Salem, OR, Carol Sloat of Taylorsville, UT, sister-in-laws, Darlene Richardson of Farr West, UT, Lila (John) DeWeber of Blaine, WA, Carol Thompson of Salt Lake City, UT.
