Proprietor of the Warsaw Greenhouses died at his home after several months illness. Born in Pavilion and was the last of 9 children. Parents were Augusta & Sylvia Andrus Baker. He came to Warsaw 45 years ago and started the greenhouse business in a small way in 1891. Through hard work, close attention to business and satisfaction given to their customers, the business steadily grew until they had 35,000 feet under glass and enjoyed a large patronage from customers in a radius of 35 miles. Last October they sold their greenhouses on N. Main St. and 2 acres of land to Frank & Charles Maha of Corfu, NY. On 10/6/1886, Mr. Baker and Nellie Morris were united in marriage by Rev. Joseph Nassau. Survived by his wife, 1 daughter, Mrs. Walter G. Woodley of Warsaw; an adopted daughter, Ethel Mae Baker of Yonkers & 2 grandchildren.
