David C married Martha "Mattie" Ligon Ford (1831) 25 January 1870 Pike County Mississippi. David was the son of Mary Watson and Jesse Ford. Rev Jesse Ford served as the first pastor. Of Swamp Baptist Church in 1785.
David's wife Martha, Mary and Robert Ligon were in the household of their sister. Elizabeth and L J Quin in 1870 Pike County Mississippi Census.
"3/12/1898 Ford, Mrs Mattie, daughter of Mr and Mrs. William Ligon, birth Pike County near China Grove, 5/13/1849 ; joined Baptist Church when she was 13 years old. Married 1/25/187_ to D.C. Ford, she then became a Methodist; death Summit 3/24/1898. One daughter died in 1894. Survived by 6 sons, and her husband."
