He received his undergraduate degree from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and advanced degrees from Elmira College, Elmira, New York, and Plymouth State University, Plymouth, New Hampshire. He taught high school English and Reading in various districts in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. After moving to New Hampshire, he continued to teach and was also a school administrator.
As a younger man, Gregg earned his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. Over the years he also liked to read, ski, travel, and play golf.
Gregg is survived by his two sons, Greg, Jr. of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Brian, of Abington, Maryland; his grandson, Brody Kunkel of Berwick, Maine; older brother John (Jack) (Petersburg, Virginia); younger sisters Claudia Brady (Wilmington, Delaware) and Connie Verhagen (Tallahassee, Florida).
He is predeceased by his parents, Bob and Dorothy Kunkel; and sister Kathy Massey.
