WARSAW, Ill.--Earl Virgil Hardy, 63, of 315 S. Third, a Warsaw businessman, died at 1:25 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 6, 1984) in his home.
Mr. Hardy was born in Loraine, Nov. 20, 1921, a son of Virgil and Daisy Adams Hardy. He married Bertha Mae Eales, Dec. 17, 1940, in Monticello, Mo. She died in May 1984.
Mr. Hardy owned and operated a service station in Warsaw and used car business in Hamilton for 10 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 965 of Springfield.
Surviving are a son, Robert L. of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Phyllis E. Ronat of Osceola, Mo.; three brothers, Donald Hardy of Hamilton, Charles Hardy of Warsaw and Dale Hardy of Quincy; three sisters, Mrs. David (Marjorie) Crow and Kathryn Hall, both of Warsaw, and Mrs. Travis (Cecil) Brownlee of Sutter; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lamporte Funeral Home at Hamilton by the Rev. Jerry Goodrich. Burial will be in the New Loraine Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
