Gary was an active member of College Hill Heights Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He and his wife, Kathy, have been members of the church for 40 years. Gary had a passion for serving the Lord and always looked for opportunities to minister to others.
Gary was a graduate of Mississippi State University, class of 1975, where he received a degree in Forestry. He was currently employed as a Forester for Harrison Logging. He loved the outdoors and through his job as a forester was able to meet and minister to a large group of people over the years. Along with his love for the outdoors, he enjoyed gardening and hunting. Over the last few years, he also began woodworking as a hobby and found a lot of enjoyment in crafting pieces from wood. As a former MSU graduate he had a huge love for sports and was an avid Bulldog fan! During his high school career, Gary played many sports and after moving to Oxford it was not uncommon to find him playing softball on the weekends for Marquis Chevron and Waller Drugs. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a supportive father, a dependable brother, and an encouraging grandfather.
