Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" Sue Adams Potter, age 73, of Jacksonville, Florida, entered this life on June 27, 1949 in Seymour, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Albert and Phyllis Adams. She was raised in Hanover, Indiana where she was a 1967 graduate of Southwestern High School. On June 6, 1968 Becky was united in marriage to Tom Potter and this happy union of 54 years was blessed with two sons, Chris and Jason. Early in life, Becky was employed with Madison Bank and Trust Company in Madison as a secretary for many years. She then went to work for Grote Manufacturing and Clifty Engineering in Madison as an administrative assistant in the Engineering Department. Becky and Tom moved to Jacksonville, Florida 22 years ago and have resided there since. While in Jacksonville, Becky worked at The Haskell Company as an administrative assistant. Becky was a devoted Christian and was a faithful member to both of her churches, attending New Prospect Baptist Church in Hanover and Promise Land Baptist Church in Jacksonville. She loved her churches and the church community. She and Tom enjoyed volunteering at the community food bank in Jacksonville. Becky loved singing, dancing, reading, and traveling. Gardening and flowers were a passion of hers, as well as going to the beach. She most of all loved spending time with her family. Becky will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh, and her loving heart. Becky died on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 10:15 a.m. at the Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Becky will be missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Tom Potter of Jacksonville, Florida; her sons, Chris Potter of Miami, Florida, Jason Potter and his wife Bryla of Pickerington, Ohio; her grandchildren, Chelsea Potter Musgrove (Kenny), Sheldon Potter, Kier Potter, and Sterling Potter; her great grandchildren, Bella and Calla; her sisters, Sherry Lee of Hanover, Indiana, Peggy Phagan and her husband Jeff of Madison, Indiana; her sister in law, Teri Bentz and her husband Greg of Madison, Indiana; her nieces and nephews, Jeff Lee (Christie), Brandon Lee (Maridith), Eric Phagan (Jessica), Sarah Phagan Morrow (James), Cari Jackson, David Jackson (Becky), Paul Jones (Kim), and Dustin Bentz (Gina); her great nieces and nephews, Hudson Lee, Maddalyn Lee, Kelsey Lee, Cooper Lee, Keeton Lee, Vinson Phagan, Connor Phagan, Callie Phagan, Landon Morrow, and Luke Morrow; her aunts, Evelyn Handlon, Betty Adams, and Virginia Adams; her uncle, Melvin Adams; many loving cousins, other relatives, friends and her church family. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Adams, died December 4, 1989, her mother, Phyllis Adams, died February 9, 2021, her grandfather, Newton Adams, died January 11, 1996, her grandmother, Lottie Adams, died November 14, 1969, her grandfather, Virgil Hunt, died March 22, 1969, her grandmother, Ruby Hunt, died January 12, 1971, her father in law, Thomas C. Potter died, March 12, 1978, her mother in law, Frances Potter died, January 17, 1995, her brother in law, David Lee, died September 13, 2018, her sister in law, Carol Jackson, died March 2, 2012, her brother in law, Terry Jackson died, March 2, 2012, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Becky's sisters will host a Celebration of Life Gathering on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at The Grace Center at the Hanover Baptist Church, 151 West Main Street, Hanover, Indiana.
