After battling many health issues for the last two years, Randy Mark Butala has finally been healed. He went home on August 14th after enjoying lunch out with his twin brother and sister-in-law.

Randy was born minutes after his twin, on 18 June 1956, at Madigan Army hospital. He was the son of Joseph and Amber (Micky Magee) Butala.

Randy proudly served in the US Army Reserves and US Army National Guard. He deployed twice during operation Iraqi freedom, working his skills as a nurse for Warrior Battalions servicing our returning soldiers. His years in the guard he served on many missions (state strike, floods, fires, and travel to Germany first as a mechanic and later as a nurse.)

After working many jobs (oil field, bouncer, bartender) he finished out his career as a nurse for the Montana VA. He retired from the clinic in Miles City in Feb 2016. Randy was known by everyone he worked with for his strong work ethics and tireless spirit.

Randy loved fast cars, Mogen David wine, his animals, and had a great sense of humor. His many friends can attest to that. He also really cared about the veterans. He spent much of his life trying to make things better for them. It is an effort we can all continue in his honor.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother, father, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. They are all there to greet him with a cold one and a cigarette no doubt.

Randy is survived by brothers Tracy (Elaine) Butala, Cole (Sara) Erb, sisters Robin (Mike) Hossfeld, Michelle Barnes, Sandy Butala, Alice Kamp (Ken) Van Dyke, son Zachary (Aimee) Butala and his mother Cheryl Green, stepchildren Dee Poynter, Krystal Kackley (Lee) Allen, Amber Kackley, and Shawna Kackley Indahl, and their mother Gina "Shilo" Batten, aunts Kathy "Tootsie" (Merlin) Howard, Norma Daily, Rose Marie Childs, and David (Ruth Ann) Magee, 15 grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N Montana Ave. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Made-it Home Ranch, 6190 Glass Dr., followed by a reception. Burial with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 26 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon, MT.
