Mrs. Lottie Halstead

Mrs. Lottie V. Halstead, 77, of Wellsville RD 1 died at home today at 1:15 a.m. following a long illness. She was born July 2, 1894, in New Cumberland, a daughter of Peter and Mary McConnell Allison. She formerly resided in Newell. Her husband, Vernard Halstead, died in 1963. Mrs. Halstead was a member of the Glendale Church of the Nazarene and IBPAW. She was a retired employe of the Homer Laughlin China Co. She is survived by four sons, John L. Halstead and Joseph W. Halstead of Hookstown, Clarence E. Halstead of Georgetown and Thomas D. Halstead of Peakin, ILL.; six daughters, Mrs. Grace Campbell of Georgetown, Mrs. Alice Jones of East Liverpool, Mrs. Thelma Gray of Coraopolis, Pa.; Mrs. Carl (Isabelle) St. Clair and Mrs. Denzil (Mary) Jones of Newell and Mrs. Larry (Shirley) Adkins of Wellsville RD 1; a sister, Mrs Marie McCarrell of Tennessee, a stepbrother, Robert Martin of Martins Ferry; 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Chester Chapel of the Arner Funeral Homes by the Rev. George Hazlett of Cuyahoga Falls, former pastor of the Glendale Church. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and night and Friday prior to the service.
