Deborah K. Markle, 68, of Nescopeck went home to be with the Lord, after a lengthy battle with a respiratory disease, on August 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends, laughing and singing God's praises until the very end.
Born in Rochester, N.Y., on February 11, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Donald E. and Maxine (Church) Ross.
She graduated from Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech in 1972. Most recently, she worked as a teller at First Keystone Community Bank. Over the years prior, she held various jobs, including working at Salem House, where she met Clarence "Mick" Markle III, and they married June 25, 1977.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed horseback riding and trained and rode horses at Ridge Road Stables.
n addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Ross; and sister Kathy Mitchell.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heller Funeral Home LLC, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. in Calvary Baptist Church in Bloomsburg, with Pastor Timothy Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Berwick. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
