Orion Luther Brown, Jr, 81 of Warrenton , VA died 01/23/08 at his home. He was born September 9, 1926 in Halifax County, a Virginia son of the late Orion Luther Brown and Rozelle Newbill Brown. Orion was a graduate of E. C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, VA and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a radio man on the USS Knapp DD653 in 1944 and 1945. Mr. Brown served the public sector working for A&P Food Stores for twenty years as Store Manager in South Boston, Farmville and Warrenton. He then served as a Loan Officer for Peoples National Bank of Warrenton (later merging to become BB&T) for twenty-six years. Orion was a member of a band in Lynchburg in the late forties called "The Vagabonds" playing saxophone. He was a member of the Mt Carmel Lodge No.133 A.F. and A.M., the Warrenton United Methodist Church and the Fauquier Springs Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 58 years - Marilyn Noel Brown; two sons - Gary Wayne Brown of Atlanta, GA and Warren Jay Brown of Dallas, TX; one brother - William Keith Brown of Williamsburg, VA and one sister - Patricia Mills of Sandy Springs, MD; three granddaughters - Lindsey Cowan-Brown of Lawrenceville, GA, Erin Brown of Clarksville, TN and Alexandra Brown of Dallas, TX and two grandsons - Devin Brown of Brooklyn, NY and Austin Brown of Dallas, TX. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, February 1st at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton, VA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 2nd at 1:00 PM at the Moser Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Warrenton Cemetery.
