Charlie was the husband of the love of his life, Shannon White Smith, of almost 12 years ( who were married in October 2010, Abilene, Texas by Rev. Joe Driscoll, Jr.)
God blessed them with one daughter, C. N.C. Smith. - C. was "her daddy's girl."
Charlie had only one sister, Kellie Smith Leger and husband, Chuck.
Charlie had one sister-n-law and brother-n-law, Hollie and David West.
Charlie had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and a church family that loved him.
Charlie ( Tank as he was called by many of his friends) had his own Log Truck, and that is what he enjoyed doing for a living.)
Charlie's going home service was held at the United Pentecostal Church in Newton, Texas on August 13, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. Many folks came to that service, and the church building was full. This represented Charlie very well, as he was a "people person" and the number of folks at the service proved it.
Charlie's Pastor, Rev. Allen Bynog, Rev. Nathan Hargrave, and (one of his life's best friends,) Rev. Jamie Witmer, officiated the service.
The Burial Service was held at the Ford Cemetery, in Newton County, Texas. Charlie's last ride was made to the cemetery by his friend, Jay Gunter, who welded onto the back of his Log Truck a place for Charlie to ride on.
Pallbearers were: Shane Landry, John Jones, Charles Mitchell, Bob White, Glen Vosti, Jay Gunter, and Willie Williams. Honorary Pallbearers were Charlie's Uncles, Clayton Sharver and Rev. Joe Driscoll, Jr.
Preceded in death is his Father, Charles (Eddie) Smith, Jr., Maternal Grandparents, William (Bill) E. Horn, L. Mozelle Gaddy Horn, and Paternal Grandparents, Charles Edward Smith, Sr., and Joyce Smith.
One thing to note about Charlie was that he loved people, especially his wife, Shannon, daughter, Chantell, mother, Belinda, and sister, Kellie.
