After returning home, Myron met Shirley Stockard. The two were united in marriage on October 4, 1958 in Emily, MN. They were blessed with eight children. They raised their family in New Ulm, Searles, and Sigel Township. In 2008, Myron and Shirley moved to Real Life in New Ulm.
Myron was a farmer from the time he was young, including throughout his 30+ year career with Kraft Foods. He enjoyed gardening, baseball, watching his grandchildren's activities and sports, socializing, critiquing food, deer hunting, and fishing, which he was able to do a few days before his passing. Above all, Myron loved time with his family. He organized many family reunions and always looked forward to the annual family vacation to Lake Winnibigoshish. Myron was a lifetime member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
Myron is survived by his daughters, Roxann (Kerry) Kurowski of Big Lake, Lisa (Bill) Fischer of New Ulm, Melissa (Ed) Lee of St. Peter; sons, Mike (Joan) Forstner of New Ulm, Greg (Connie) Forstner of Rapid City, South Dakota, Frank (Rachel) Forstner of New Ulm, Ryan (Sandy Sturman) Forstner of St. Cloud; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Connie Reichensperger of St. Cloud; brother, Rollie Forstner of New Ulm; many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Forstner; son, Brian Forstner; grandson, Jacob Forstner; brothers, Gene and Kenneth Forstner; and sister, Lois Fischer.
Myron will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Blessed be his memory.
