Phyllis was born December 19, 1940, in Davison, Michigan to Richard and Nioma (Hart) Griffith. She married Virgil Nutt on November 16, 1957, in Davison. Phyllis was a bus driver for the Lapeer Community School District and the Inland Lakes Schools in Indian River, Michigan. Phyllis loved her dogs, Libby and Smokey. Above all, Phyllis loved simple times spent with her family.
Phyllis is survived by her four daughters, Peggy Snow of Lapeer, Lynn Goss of Columbiaville, Kim (Ricky) Phillips of Indian River and Terri Jones of Lapeer; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren (+ two on the way); siblings, Richard (Mary Sue) Griffith of Missouri, Joan (Fred) Bonesteel of Fostoria and Bruce Griffith of Flint. Phyllis is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Nutt, Sr.; son, Virgil Nutt, Jr.; sisters, Joyce DeFelice and June Sontag; brother, Elton Griffith and her aforementioned parents.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. No formal service will take place. Phyllis' cremains will be interred with her beloved husband in Woodlawn Cemetery, Columbiaville. Condolences and memories may be left at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com
