Donna G. Rippel
PORTVILLE - Donna G. Rippel, 89, of 9463 Nouvoo Road, passed away Sunday (Aug. 7, 2022) at Olean General Hospital.
Born Aug. 18, 1932, in Batavia, she was the daughter of Fred and Eva Glor. On March 25, 1961, in Wellsboro, Pa., she married Harry W. "Rip" Rippel Jr., who passed away Aug. 21, 2018.
Donna graduated from Batavia High School and worked as a switchboard operator for the former New York Telephone Company. She later was a school bus driver for Alexander Central School for many years. Donna then worked as an admissions clerk for the VA Medical Center in Batavia for over 25 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed her many pets over the years and loved all animals, especially her beloved dog "Koko."
Surviving are four children, Kathleen (Chris Mohr) Rippel of Olean, Janet (Bobby Woolhizer) Rippel of Cuba, Timothy Spink of Portville and Daniel Rippel of North Little Rock, Ark.; an "adopted son" and longtime friend, Paul Adair of East Bethany; grandchildren, Jeremy Rippel, Trisha Rippel, Joshua Frega, Christopher Jacek, Jaden Biscaro, Reyna Baker, Jacob Baker, Daniel Mansfield, Danae Rippel, Melissa Rippel, Robert Griffin and Victoria Rippel; numerous great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Linda Rippel of Stafford; and a nephew, Brian (Carol) Glor of Oakfield.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, William Rippel, Doug Rippel and Kevin Spink; two daughters, Karen Jacek and Ann Rippel; and three grandsons, Samuel Griffin, William Rippel and Brian Rippel.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday (Aug. 15, 2022) in St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 931 N. Union St., Olean. Burial will be at a future date along with her husband "Rip" at the Western New York National Cemetery, town of Pembroke in Genesee County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Road, Olean, NY 14760; or to the Crossroads House, 11 Liberty St., Batavia, NY 14020.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
