Dr. Don H. Burt, 81, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014, at home in Durham, NC. He was born in Crossett, Arkansas to the late Frederick Murray Burt and the late Hattie Mae Ready Burt.
Dr. Burt attended college in Arkansas on a football scholarship and attended medical school at Tulane University. He was an Orthopedic Surgeon at the Bone and Joint Clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Burt loved his profession and practiced medicine for 50 years. He also served as a flight surgeon in the Air Force.
He is survived by his daughter, Lindy B. McHutchison, M.D. of Durham, NC; son, Don D. Burt and wife, Elizabeth of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Cameron and Kit McHutchison and Brianna and Braedon Burt; brother, Frederick N. "Skip" Burt (Mary) of Crossett, AR.
Services will be held in Crossett, Arkansas, his hometown, on Saturday, February 15th at 12 noon at Egypt Cemetery. Services in Crossett are being assisted by Jones Funeral Home www.jonesservice.com.
