Funeral services for Angela Margo Abernathy, 70, of Oak Grove, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 15, 2022 at New Zion Baptist Church, Oak Grove, LA with Bro. Shawn Corley officiating. Interment will follow in the Beulah Cemetery, Oak Grove, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove, LA.
Mrs. Angela was born November 11, 1951 in Delhi, LA and passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 in Oak Grove, LA.
Mrs. Angela was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church of Oak Grove, LA and a longtime member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Norma Lois Townsend; and her brother, Roger Townsend.
Survivors include her husband, Chester Abernathy of Oak Grove; children, Felicia Abernathy Cherry of Hurst, TX and Chris Abernathy and wife, Natasha of Oak Grove; grandchildren, Colt Abernathy of Spokane, WA, Shelby Abernathy of Midlothian, TX, Sean Cherry of Hurst, TX, Nevaeh Cherry of Hurst, TX, and Kali Cherry of Hurst, TX; and her siblings, Ronnie Townsend, Richard Townsend, Cathy Paul, Michelle Keller, and Courtney Townsend.
Pallbearers will be Paul Peterson, Rusty Nicholson, Melvin Warren, Stacy Martin, Robert Warren, and Calvin Layton.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 14, 2022 at New Zion Baptist Church, Oak Grove, LA.
