William Lloyd Rose, 65, passed away January 8, 2022 at his home in Larned.

He was born August 22, 1956 in Bridgeport, TX, the son of Carl A. and Dorothy D. Kern Rose. A longtime area resident, he was a Correction Officer for the Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned, Kansas Rifle Association, NRA and the Larned Gun Club. He enjoyed shooting and hunting.

On September 27, 1980, he married Gaynell Ann Ashton in Larned, KS. She survives.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Lindsey Ann Rose, Larned, KS Heather Lynn Thompson, Hanston, KS, Stacy Marie Rose, Olpe, KS; brother, David Rose, Salina, KS; two sisters, Betty Rose and Diane Ring, both of Larned; four grandchildren, Wyatt Austin Thompson, William Howard Thompson, Annabeth Morgan Thompson and Morgan Odessa Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the mortuary.
