Royce Wisdom, a long time member of the Meridian community, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 22, 2018 at Elk Crossing in Duncan. He was 98 years old. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Meridian, with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 5 p.m., with family receiving friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Royce spent most his life in Comanche where he loved to hunt, fish, train bird dogs and was a master gardener. Royce was a Mason and an Ambassador Shriner from this area for the Shriners' Hospital. Royce helped both Ruthie and Ronnie with their show animals while enjoying calf roping and rodeos.

Survivors include a daughter Ruthie Ann and Husband Dr. Chris McMeans, Youkon, Ok; four grandchildren: Tawna Ann Meadows, Oklahoma City, OK; Christie Ann McMeans, Stillwater, OK; Cory Wisdom, New Hampshire; and Law and wife Casidy McMeans, Ada, OK; five great-grandchildren: Trevor Meadows, Alyssa Wisdom, Ameryce McMeans and Jackson Wisdom; one great-great grandson: Dakota Meadows; a brother: Dr. Cran Wisdom of Shawnee, OK; a daughter-in-law: Julie Wisdom of Comanche; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 yearsJoy in 2012; one son-Ronnie in 2017, one brother- GA Wisdom and two sisters-Waynell Sawyer and Betty Sutterfield.
