Morris Rudolph Coleman, 95, of Van Buren, departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 31, 1926 in Van Buren to the late Fred and Dorothy (Morrison) Coleman, and graduated in 1945 from Alma High School. He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the Philippine Islands, Japan and Germany. He worked many years at Desoto Furniture in Fort Smith and retired from Therma-Tru as Cost-Engineer. He was a member of Van Buren First Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Bonewell of Rudy, and Darrell Coleman of Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary O'Dean (Isam) Coleman; two daughters, Velma Dean Huckey and husband Roger of Alma, and Cheryl Walters of Van Buren; three sisters, Doris Hall and husband Jim of Fort Smith, Lamatha Baker and husband Marvin of Oklahoma City, and Gloria Rogers and husband Richard of Cedarville; three brothers, Ronnie Coleman and wife Tawana of Fort Smith, Connie Coleman and wife Susie of El Dorado, and Quince Coleman and wife Denise of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Darren Huckey and wife Sabrina of Macon, Ga., Rodney Huckey and wife Erin of Alma, Shelly Davis and husband Derek of Van Buren, Michael Wray and wife Anahi of Dallas, and Valerie Freeman of Van Buren; and sixteen great-grandchildren, Kaleb (Jasmine), Kai, Boaz, Einya and Miryam Huckey of Macon, Ga., Kennady (Brett) Polly, London Huckey, Joshua Huckey of Alma, Lena, Ethan, Eli and Loren Davis of Van Buren, Mikaila (Kameron) Meeks and Abigail Cobbler of Van Buren, and Henry and Sophie Wray of Dallas; and two great-great-grandchildren, Drew and Austin Jane Polly of Alma; plus a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Van Buren First Assembly of God with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Members of the Auditorium Sunday School Class of Van Buren First Assembly of God.

The family will visit with friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 15, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
