Frances Mainez Keith born August 3, 1931 in Laredo, Texas earned her angel wings on August 4, 2022. She is rejoicing in heaven with loved ones who preceded her in death. What a JOYFUL and GLORIOUS reunion she had with her mother, who she lost at the age of five, on the day that she arrived! Frances was preceded in death by her parents Crescencio Mainez and Teresa Martinez, her three brothers: Pedro Maynez, Crescencio Mainez, and Ignacio Mainez, her beloved first spouse Joe Henry Montemayor, and her beloved second spouse William Dix Keith.
Frances was a licensed vocational nurse in the Baptist Memorial Hospital System for eight years. After attending Durham Business College, she entered the field of bookkeeping and accounting working for Cudahy Foods Company. After the closing of the San Antonio Cudahy Company location, she pursued her real estate license; ultimately becoming a Re-Max Real Estate Broker. She was an active member of the Mexican American Business and Professional Association. Frances briefly tried retirement doing volunteer work with various non-profits. Her passion for service took her back to her early vocational nursing experience as she became the owner and administrator of Parland Place Community Living, Inc. licensed for 40 beds. Frances became a tireless advocate for the mentally challenged adult residents whom she served. She successfully lobbied congressman at the state and national level for the licensing of personal care homes as she saw, first hand, practices that were unacceptable. She served as President of SARCH- San Antonio Residential Care Home Providers and established yearly professional conferences to maintain licensing training requirements for residential care providers. Frances was a true role model for those in the residential care industry in San Antonio; well respected by her business associates. She reluctantly retired at the age of 86 leaving San Antonio to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Marietta, Georgia. The last few years of her life were filled with creating joyful memories for her family.
Survivors include her loving and devoted only daughter Debra Montemayor McCracken (Tutt);
Grandchildren: Christopher Pickett (Rachel), Derek Pickett (Erica), Brian Pickett, and Leigh Anne King (William).
Great Grandchildren: (The Woodlands, TX) Alexander, Isabella, and Nathaniel Pickett; (Kennesaw, GA) Lindsey Pickett; (Auburn, GA) William King, V "Liam", and Theodore Henry King
