On 25 February 1864, Catherine married Edwin J. Cadwell in Rock Island County, Illinois. Edwin and Catherine were the parents of one child, Cicely Philinda Cadwell, born on 4 May 1865. Catherine would die the next year on 27 August 1866, and her daughter would be raised by her father and his second wife.
