Ann Pearl (McGill) Harrod, was born December 2, 1946, the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Cylister McGill. She received the call of the Lord on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Ann was raised in Church View, Virginia where at an early age she was baptized and joined Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was a graduate of St. Claire Walker High School Class of 1965.

Ann married her late husband William (Rod) Harrod in 1970 and gained his children. She moved to Yorktown, VA and they had one son, Andre Scott Harrod. She joined hands in fellowship with Grafton Baptist Church Harris Grove, Yorktown, VA.

Ann retired from Colonial Williamsburg after many years of service, and went on to become an entrepreneur as a gift shop owner of "The Gingerbread House". There, she used her craft talents and people skills to sell her unique gifts. Ann had to close the shop when her beloved husband became ill and needed assistance. She was a kind, thoughtful person who loved creating and giving to others.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband William J. Harrod; stepson, Avon Harrod; stepdaughter, Christine Harrod; sisters, Shirley McGill and Delight Jackson; brothers, Thomas, Jr (Kitty), Earnest Scott, Earl Frances (Jimpsy), and George McGill. Loving memories will be treasured by her sons, Andre "Scotty" Harrod of Newport News and Larry T. Harrod of Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Cecelia Harrod; grandsons Larry Harrod II, and William Harrod; granddaughters, Krystal & Jasmine Harrod; great-granddaughter, Mya Harrod of Maryland; brother-in-law, Clarence "Dickie" Jackson of West Point; sister-in-Law, Thelma Griffin of Yorktown; aunt, Tula B. Johnson of New York, NY; special friend, Gloria Jones; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Whiting's Funeral Home. Due to the current health pandemic, only 50 people may be in attendance with facial covering and social distancing requirements. Facebook Livestream will be available at the start of the service. Internment to follow in Grafton Baptist Church Memorial Park.
