Donald "Don" Charles Shaw, 80, of Benbrook, Texas, passed away on July 12, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Don was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Edwin and Edna Shaw on May 9, 1942. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service in 1983 and was awarded an Air Force Good Conduct Medal and an Air Force Commendation Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Clusters. He worked the remainder of his career as a State of Texas employee, managing in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. He was a loving husband of over 40 years to Sandra Shaw, to whom he showed exceptional care and devotion.

Don is survived by his wife Sandra Shaw; son Brian Shaw and wife Maria, son Brett Shaw and wife Christy, and stepdaughter Diana Marnell; brother Ed Shaw and wife Becky, and sister-in-law Gayle Bixler; grandchildren Michael King and wife Stephanie, Bryson Shaw, Bailey Shaw, Bo Shaw, Erin Starling and husband Davante, Katie Shaw and significant other Dante Hartso, Brandon Green, Bayleigh Green and Brittany Pultz; great-grandchildren Tatum Groves, Kinley King, Kaizley King, and baby Starling due in December; nieces and nephews Steve Shaw and wife Debra, Pam Watson and husband Layne, Jeff Zeurn, Kathy Zuern, Doug Zeurn, Kimberly Albert, Kristine London and husband James, Natalie Bixler, and Farrah Anderson and husband John; as well as his loyal canine Toby.

Also, like family: son Joe Krachinski and wife Brandi and their children Kendrick Clark and Katelin Clark; devoted family friends Julie Zsambok, Becca VonBehrens, her daughter Deanna Reed and husband Tyler.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Edna Shaw, brother-in-law Calvin Bixler and niece Cindy Rogers.

Funeral services will be held noon – 1:00 PM on August 17, 2022, at Aria Funeral Home, 1820 N. Beltline Road, Irving, TX 75061 with viewing from 11:30 AM to noon. Burial will follow at Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.

The funeral home has requested no flowers or plants be sent to the funeral home for services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Don's name to the Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org
