Ronald (Ron) is survived by his wife, Rae Marie Hughes Christie; his mother, Ida Mae McDaniel Christie; his children, Heath and wife Tracie Christie, Shawn and wife Amanda Christie, Lance Christie, as well as stepson Ken Williams, and extended family daughter Charity and husband Grady Bob Young; his grandchildren, Danielle Christie, Haley Christie, Brianna Christie, Tristan Christie, Gabby Wardle, Mason Young, Jax and Kane Young; and his siblings Pat and husband Dannie Stanton, Rick and wife Erica Christie and Renee and husband Mike Slayman. Ron was preceded in death by his father William Maurice 'Chub' Christie, paternal grandparents Roland Earl and Alice Edna Musick Christie and maternal grandparents James Orley and Cordia Mae Sutton McDaniel.
Ron was born on November 2, 1948, in Bethany, Missouri. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1967. Ron attended the University of Central Missouri for a year prior to enlisting in the United States Air Force, August of 1969. Ron retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service. He then worked 17 more years for, and retired from, the United States Postal Service. He was a mechanic on the cancellation and sortation equipment.
Ron enjoyed several hobbies in his life, including playing softball, snow skiing, hunting, scuba diving and woodworking in his shop. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Wade Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10:30 AM, with a graveside service to follow at Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1 PM.
