Robert 'Bob' Anthony Murray – dedicated husband, father and friend, passed way at his home in Lake St. Louis, MO on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. He was 85 years old.

Robert was born to Annette Longo-Murray and Frank Murray in St. Louis, MO on March 30, 1937. In his formative years he began his career in racing, engine rebuilding and car repair.

His race spectating, auto repair skills and lead foot combined to become a lifelong love affair with professional drag racing. In the summers he could often be found at a number of racetracks in the St. Louis area and nationwide. In the winters, he was tuning and repairing his dragster and working on his car collection.

Through the years Bob enjoyed professional drag racing, piloting his Cessna and Bonanza aircrafts in the 70's and 80's, collecting rare antiques, frequenting local Blues clubs and spending time with friends and family.

He was also a very successful business owner having founded Bob Murray Automotive, Lakeside Auto and Andretti Limo Services.

Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diane (nee Rolf), his sons Michael and Steven and daughter-in law Danielle and his cousin Pat Schnur (nee Longo).

Cremation rites have been accorded as per his wishes.

Friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Bob's life in the way he would want to be remembered - as an outgoing, adventurous and spirited man who enjoyed life to the fullest.
