Bobby Joe Bacle, 78, of Jena, La, passed peacefully from this life on June 26, 2022, at his home in the Midway Community, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 1, 1944, in Hebert, LA, to the union of his parents Willie Holten and Thelma O. (Laffoon) Bacle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Bacle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 1/2 years, Esther Marie (Smith) Bacle, his sons, Kevin Bacle & wife Becky, and Kris Bacle & wife Laura, sisters, Hazel (Bacle) Barker & husband J.L., Betty (Gibbs) Henley & husband Carlos, and Linda (Gibbs) Morrow, his granddaughters Kali (Bacle) Ray & husband Ikey, and Kourtney (Bacle) Slayton & husband Arick and his precious great grandson Karter Ray.

Joe spent his early life on Woolen Lake with his sweet grandmother, Bertha Bacle. As a very young man, he left the lazy days of summer, fishing on the banks as the winds blew moss from the trees, and traveled to Jena in search of employment. There, he found the love of his life, Esther Marie Smith.

Joe made many friends through the years. When he retired from Hunt Petroleum, it was ordinary to see several gathered on his deck. As they sat in the swing, they drank coffee, laughed, and talked about the good old days! Those who drove by received a friendly wave and told "come back when you can."

Joe was a member of Midway Baptist Church. For many years, until his health declined, Joe carefully mowed and groomed the church lawn. It was a work of art, his humble offering to his Lord. A man of great strength, he firmly displayed good work ethics. He taught his sons to do the same. He was a good son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. through 9:00 P.M., at Midway Baptist Church.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 10:00 A.M., at Midway Baptist Church with the Reverends Daniel Breithaupt and Kendall Price officiating.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Kenny Robertson, Jesse Hailey, Joey Hargrove, Kevin Windham, Melvin Worthington, and Danny Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Whatley, Darrell Wilson, J. L. Barker, Paul M. Smith, Joe Merle Francis, Mike Neal, Jack Zeagler and Rev. John Barker.
