Ms. Katherine Joan "Katie Jo" Richards, 29, of Henderson, Illinois passed away at 10:04 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022, in Rock Island, Illinois.

She was born May 19, 1993, in Galesburg. She was the daughter of Michael Richards and Cathy Berry. She was raised in Galesburg and Henderson. She graduated from Galesburg Senior High School and later attended Carl Sandburg College.

She is survived by both her parents, her sister, Wendy (and Chuck) Sebek of Las Vegas, Nevada, her brother, Jacob (and Paige) Richards of Galesburg, her niece Savannah Nelson and several aunts and uncles.

Katie loved to go fishing. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She knew how the game was played and what each player should be doing at the snap of the ball. Most important, Katie was a daughter, a sister, and a friend to all that loved her. She was a candle in the wind that was blown out too soon.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Mike Richards will share a few words and will offer a time of sharing stories about Katie. Memorials can be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
