He was the beloved son of Dewey Hurst and Loretta Hodge Hurst.
Ronnie was a man who loved music and passed that love to his children. Songs filled his days, and his tastes were varied and wide. He also had a stubborn streak of independence, a sense of right and wrong, and always picked the underdog in a fight. He passed these values down to his kids as well. Ronnie was a storyteller, a man quick with a joke or a witty comeback. True to his family roots, a goodbye for Ronnie generally took about forty-five minutes to complete. So, it was a surprise when he left us all so soon. He will be loved, remembered, and missed.
He is survived by his mother; his children, Vincent Hurst, Holly Langdon, Autumn Ridenour, and Bridgett Mills; his companion, Mary "Sam" Hahn; brothers, James Hurst, David Hurst, Garry Craig; sisters, Shirley Lewis, Sheryl Griffith, Wanda Bosse, Donna Hornsby, Connie Taylor, Edna Durbin; and grandchildren, Sarah, Travis, Bry, Piper, Sydney, Emmit, and Shiloh. Ronnie was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and loved to "cut up" with kids.
Ronnie's final resting place will be at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily Kentucky, with his father. In lieu of flowers the family wishes to remember Ronnie by grabbing a cold drink, putting on some Lynyrd Skynyrd, Keith Whitley, or The Who, and turning up the volume.
