Shirley Mae Walker Turner passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Dallas, GA. She was born on May 14, 1936, the daughter of the late Jess and Hattie Blackmon Walker in Draketown, GA. She was the youngest of their seven children. She was retired from the secretarial field. Shirley enjoyed painting beautiful landscapes and loved yard work. She loved to travel while she was still able, but Paulding County was always home. She was an extremely humble, loving, and caring person. Shirley was a devout Christian and loved her church and God with all her heart. 

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Hattie Blackmon Walker; Her loving husband, James Junior Turner of 40 years, her infant daughter, Genny Leigh Walraven, and all of her brothers and sisters and their spouses: Jessie Renay Walker; Lucille and Roy Osborne; BJ and Thelma Walker; Thelma and Don Chasteen; Alma and Howard Rodgers; and Houston and Elwanda Walker; She is survived by her stepdaughter, Melissa Turner Cantrell; her grandson, Daniel Cantrell; her great-grandson, Nolan Cantrell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who love her very much, including a special great great niece, Ginny Lee Pollock, who shares her baby girl's name and a special place in her heart. 

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service for Shirley will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 1:00 PM with Reverend Travis Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
