Jerry Lee Richardson, age 76 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Bailey Manor. He was born in Smith County on October 29, 1945, to the late Athel and Mary (Sircy) Richardson. Jerry graduated from Red Boiling Springs High School before graduating from Tennessee Tech, where he met the love of his life, Betty Carmack. He and Betty married in 1971 and moved to Winchester. He had been employed for many years at Wilton before retiring as a Quality Control Supervisor at Tepro. Jerry was a dedicated member of Winchester First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and treasurer, and he also was a volunteer with the Backpack Program for the Franklin County School System. He enjoyed wood working and coin collecting, but most of all he cherished the time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as "Da." Jerry will be remembered for his kind and loving nature, as well as for his love for animals…he was on a first name basis with all the neighborhood dogs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Richardson. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Betty Carmack Richardson of Winchester; twin daughters, Andrea (Ty) Broadbent of Winchester, and Angela (Jared) Woodall of Decherd; grandchildren, Caleb and Caitlyn Cashion, and Brooklyn and Brandon Woodall; bonus grandchildren, Tyler, Rachael, Austin, Brittany, and Blake Broadbent; siblings, Jackie (Dianne) Richardson of Lafayette, Barbara Wilkerson of Lafayette, Katherine (Jerry) Johnson of Carthage, and Lou Ann Richardson of Lafayette; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Winchester First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Rev. Michael Clark officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens. A special thanks to Bailey Manor for the loving care they provided for Jerry.
