John Thomas "Tom" Colbert, Sr., 75 of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away January 29, 2008 in Springdale, Arkansas. Mr. Colbert was born July 21, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of John Francis and Margaret Eileen McClellan Colbert. He graduated from Saint Ambrose Academy in Davenport, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University and University of Iowa. Tom and his wife Mary owned and operated The Framin' Place in Naperville, Illinois. John was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. They moved to Rogers in July 1994 from Naperville. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons, Stephen and Chris.
He is survived by his wife Mary McKee Colbert. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary January 25, 2008. He is also survived by his children Margaret Thompson and husband Chuck of Front Royal, Virginia; John T. Colbert, Jr. of Rogers, Arkansas; Kevin Colbert and wife Susan of Naperville, Illinois; Ann Bruni and husband Frank of Henderson, Nevada; Tricia Irvin and husband Bill of Granger, Indiana; Dan Colbert and wife Heather of Waterford, Michigan; Matt Colbert of Naperville, Illinois; his sisters Patricia Hershberger and husband John of Davis, California; Debbie Green and husband Vince of Morton, Illinois; Kay Redmond and husband Ed of Painesville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews; 32 great neices and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral mass will be 1:00 P.M. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers with Father Mike Sinkler and Monsignor David LeSieur officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Columbarium at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bentonville, Arkansas.
