Robert "Linwood" Lee, 74, of Four Oaks passed away Monday July 11, 2022 at his home after a heroic battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Friday, July 15, 2022 at Blackman's Grove Baptist Church outside Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Rodney Wilson and Rev. Wayne Dunn will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Johnston County, he was the son of Verlin Franklin and Eva Stanley Lee of Four Oaks.

Linwood served our country in the U.S. Army and our community for over 40 years as a member of the Blackman's Crossroads Fire Department where he served as former chief.

Linwood was employed with the United States Postal Service for many years until he retired 9 years ago. He was a member of Blackman's Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and on the building and grounds committee.

When not working, he enjoyed fishing at Topsail Island, gardening, wood working, reading and watching westerns, Mt. Dew's and spending time with his canine "sons" Oreo and Waylon Jennings.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Judy Stewart Lee of Four Oaks; daughters, Crystal Lee of Four Oaks; Catherine Woodall and husband, Adam also of Four Oaks; grandson, Wilton Lin "Will" Woodall; one sister, Gale Lee Barefoot of Dunn and brother, Carroll Grey Lee of Four Oaks; sisters-in-Law, Nancy Stewart of Benson and Norma Jean Barefoot of Plainview.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews Donnie, Ashley, Jason, Neil, Robert Carroll and Barry Barefoot, LeeAnn Blackmon, Vanecia Lee, Billy Ray Stewart, Lesa King and Natalie Oliver. And special cousins Anna, Owen, Ryan and Kelly Massengill and Laverne Melendez.

The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home of Catherine and Adam Woodall, in Four Oaks, NC 27524.

The family wishes to express thanks to Heartland Hospice in Raleigh, NC for their care shown to Mr. Lee during his sickness.
