Sandra Lou Huffman of Kerhonkson, a life area resident, and a retired legal secretary for the law office of Stuart Borrero of Kingston, died January 21, 2008 at the Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was 63.
The daughter of Frederick and Marie Meyer Mickelson, Sr., she was born October 23, 1944 in Dumont, NJ. She was the widow of Andrew Huffman and a member of the Grahamsville United Methodist Church. She also was a former Court Clerk in the Town of Rochester. Sandy was loving, caring, amazingly strong and stubborn woman who put the needs of her family and others before own. She was mom, granny, and aunt sandy to all who came into her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We can all be at peace to know we have her still looking after us from above.
She is survived by three sons: David Huffman and his wife, Nina of Schenectady, Brian Huffman and his wife, Annmarie of Accord, Steven Huffman of Kerhonkson; three daughters: Jennifer Winne of Kingston, Jeanymarie Huffman of Kerhonkson, Rebecca Huffman of Accord; a stepson Robert Huffman of Glouchester, MA; two sisters, Marilyn Costa and her husband, Fred of Grahamsville, Karen Slater of Kerhonkson, on brother, Raymond Mickelson and his wife, Ruth Ann of Woodbourne; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew. She is predeceased by two brothers, Frederick L. Mickelson and Robert E. Mickelson.
Friends may call at Loucks Funeral Home, Inc., 79 N. Main Street, Ellenville on Friday, January 25, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26 at the funeral home. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family. A spring burial will be held in the spring in the Grahamsville Rual Cemetery. Rev. Sarah Tweedy will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory, may be sent to her son, Brian Huffman, PO Box 157, Accord, NY 12404.
