Wayne Ervin Dobbs, 64, of Southside, departed this life on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Cash, Arkansas on September 3, 1957, to Ivern Dobbs and Ruby Simpson VanHoozer.

Growing up Wayne worked on the farm and continued working on the farm until he moved to Little Rock and was involved in construction work. The last fifteen years he worked in the bakery in Batesville. He loved farming, enjoyed hunting, fishing, frog gigging, and drag racing at George Ray's in Paragould. In high school, Wayne bought a hearse and liked to take his girlfriend on rides in it. He was saved and baptized this year.

He is survived by his wife, Shanna Dobbs of Southside; his mother, Ruby VanHoozer, of Cash; sons, Gregory Dobbs, of Batesville, James Dobbs (Candi) of Batesville; his daughter, Meagan Newell (Noah) of Herriman, Utah; brothers, Dean Merritt, (Marjorie) of Virginia, Ricky Merritt (Kim) of Wisconsin; sisters, Virginia Bishop (Jerry) of Cash, Tammie Fowler (Brian) of Texas, Yvonne Paris, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Savanna Junkersfeld, of Pocahontas, Judy Jones of Pocahontas; seven grandchildren, a great grandchild which is due in April; two ex-daughter in laws who he loved very much, Carrie Gann and Samantha Bates; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ivern Dobbs, his dad, Trannie Vanhoozer, brothers, Richard Merritt, Gene Dobbs, Orgil Wayne Dobbs, John Glen Dobbs, and Ivern Dobbs, Jr. and niece, Jennifer Jordan.

A Funeral Service will be held at Doty Southside Funeral Service Chapel on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Tim Baize officiating. Burial will be in the Cash Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.

Pallbearers will be Dale Kirk, Adam York, Joey Alexander, Eric Watkins, Steve Alexander, Jason Hawley, Charlie Beck and Jason Beck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doty Southside Funeral Service, 2180 Batesville Blvd, Southside, Arkansas 72501, to help offset funeral expenses.
