A Requiem Mass for Edward W Berger 79-year-old Mattituck resident who died yesterday in his home at Renlo Park will be held in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church of Mattituck at 9:30 AM Saturday followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery Cutchogue. A summer resident here for 43 years, Berger made Mattituck his permanent home in 1948 when he retired from a New Jersey wholesale plumbing supply firm. A long time resident of New Jersey Berger once served as Weehawken mayor, fire chief and police chief. He also served as president of the First National Bank of Union City, NJ and was a member of Hoboken Lodge of Elks 74.
