Oscar Jay Dean Jr., 74, went to be with his Lord on July 26, 2022. He was born on October 31, 1947 to his parents Eulalia (Hernandez) and Oscar Jay Dean Sr. in Fort Worth, Texas.

Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the late 1960's as a Seaman Apprentice; he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal for his valiant service to the country.

Oscar became Estimating Functional Chief for Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals, Inc., which led him to travel globally throughout his working years. He never failed to thank his Lord for the opportunities he was given, Oscar was a devout Catholic and called Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church his home church. Oscar loved to cook, and spend time with his family, children and grandchildren. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

Oscar is preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Raymond Dean and Louise McKinney.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Dean; children, Angela Dean, Richard Dean and wife Sandra, Glenn Dean and wife Lauren, and Tiffany Smith and husband William; siblings, Linda Cramer, Peggy Isacson, and Sarah Walker; grandchildren, Stephanie Long, Ashley Dean, Lillian Smith, Solomon Smith, and Everly Smith; and by great-granddaughter, Amelia Long; in addition to numerous other extended family members and many friends.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
