Charlie "Buzzy" A. Smith III of Kerrville passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, August 4th, 2022.

Buzzy was born on November 20, 1946, in Jasper, Texas to Bonnie and Charlie A. Smith II. As a young man, he joined the US Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Upon leaving the army, he worked for many years at Southwestern Engineering Company in Comfort, Texas.

Buzzy loved gardening, barbecuing, bowling, Nascar and the Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to mourn his loss wife Frieda Neffendorf Smith, his sons Travis Smith and Cameron Smith of Canyon Lake, Texas; step-daughter Tina Hess and husband Les of Enid, Oklahoma, step-granddaughter Shasta Williams and step-grandson Charlie Hess of Fairview, Oklahoma; brother Stanley Smith and wife Kathy of Red Oak Texas and step-niece Brandy Helm and husband Joshua of Red Oak.
