A gentle man, borne of hard work and even harder times, loved by his family, sorely missed. He loved his grandchildren to a fault. To this day, I think I miss his infectious smile, his teasing us with his false teeth and eating vanilla ice cream with butterscotch syrup on top on those hot summer evenings. The day he passed from our reach was the only day I can clearly remember my father crying in front of us.
Grandpa, you left an enormous hole in our lives when you left. It's matched only by the love we have for you. We well see you again.
I'm gonna walk with my grand daddy
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I missed him
Every minute since he left
Then I'll hug his neck
From When I Get Where I'm Going
