Born March 12, 1958, son of the late Ralph E. Burney and Mildred Jeanette Burney.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his first wife, Virginia Susan Burney, and second wife, Mary Rebecca "Becky" Kennedy Burney.
He is survived by one daughter, Virginia Robin (Strider) Cedra of Newport News, VA, one brother, James "Jimmy" E. Burney of Elizabethtown, NC, four sisters, Wanda H. Burney of Selma, NC, Sharon A. Burney of Whiteville, NC, Janice B. Widenor of Troy, VA, Joyce M. Burney of Clarkton, NC, one nephew, William J. Widenor of Clarkton, NC, one brother-in-law, Paul and Cindy Kennedy of Ohio, special appreciation and acknowledgment for caring and sharing of your kindness.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 11:30 am at White Plains Presbyterian Church, 6155 White Plains Church Rd., Council, NC 28434. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
