Emmette served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was a retired welder for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member and Deacon at South Quay Baptist Church and a member of Suffolk Masonic Lodge #30.
Left to cherish his memory is two sisters, Peggy Norris (Mike) and Delores Strunk (Brian); two brothers, Richard and Johnny Reeves; two nieces, Michelle Wolke (Joe) and Connie Reeves; a nephew, Henley Nelms (Hali); three great nieces, Elizabeth Reeves, Katarina Strunk, and Shannon Wolke; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy Christine Moon and Sam Moon.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
