James "Jim" Melton Daniels, 69, of Jackson died Sunday, July 31, 2022. A lifelong resident of Jackson, Jim was born April 16, 1953 to the late Sylvester and Opal Daniels and was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church. While he worked as a carpenter, a trade he learned from his father and passed on to his sons and grandsons, he also enjoyed woodworking and doing crafts with his dear wife. Jim was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour, Michael Connelly, Lee Child and David Baldacci, to name a few of his favorites. He enjoyed spending time sharing humorous stories with any and everyone he met. In years past his hobbies included boating, fishing, water skiing and bowling. One thing he truly enjoyed is the practical jokes swapped between him and his many friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Callie Jo Daniels; three sons, Chance Daniels, Joshua Daniels and Hank Daniels; two sisters, Sybil Robinson and Bernice Jarrell; 6 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Stave Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Sullivan officiating and visitation one hour prior. Lathan Funeral Home directing.
