John Bennett, of Coeur d'Alene, a brother of the late James M. Bennett, spent several days here the past week, having cone into learn the facts of his brother's death and to assist in arranging his affairs. The telegram telling of Mr. Bennett's death did not reach him, and he heard of the accident only indirectly. Another brother and a sister of the deceased also live in Idaho, W. H. Bennett who lives at Pritchard and Mrs. M. Turk, whose home in at Lane.

Deputy Sheriff James M. Bennett was instantly killed at Chelan by the accidental discharge of his revolver. He was stooping over a spring to drink, when the weapon was discharged.
